Sefer Avkas Rochel - Responsa of R. Yosef Karo, Salonica 1791. First Edition
First edition of the responsa of Maran R. Yosef Karo, author of Beis Yosef and Shulchan Aruch, printed from his manuscript. Although a portion of his response was first published by his son R. Yehuda in 1598, this is the first edition to include his entire work of responsa in its entirety.
Includes responsa posed by many of the great Torah sages who lived during the 16th century, such as: R. David Ibn Zimrah (Radvaz), R. Moshe de Trani (Mabit), R. Elisha Galico, R. Shmuel De Modena (Maharshdam), R. Yosef Ibn Lev (Mahari ibn Lev), and many others.
Siman 136 includes a query from the great Kabbalist R. Yitzchak Luria - The Arizal.
Ownership inscriptions of Yitzchok Farhi seen on pages 2 and 10. A handwritten marginal gloss is seen on pp. 89.
