Initiating Bank - First Degree
Made by Mechanical Novelty Works. New Britain, Connecticut - Early 1880's. Though esoteric and obscure, the imagery for this bank seems to reference the bizarre initiating rights of the International Order of Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F.). When the plunger is pressed, the goat rears up and butts the young man in the behind, causing him to fall forward and drop the coin into the frog's mouth from his tray. This is a genuinely exceptional example of this bank.
Condition: Near Mint Condition.
