"In Front of the Picture, M.402" a lithograph on wove paper by listed artist Marc Chagall. Plate created in 1960 and printed in 1963 by Mourlot Freres, Paris. Includes a Certificate of Authenticity. Measures in the frame 25.25" H x 22.25" W. Chagall (1887-1985) is well known as a painter and his masterful, evocative works are characterized by their poetic, mystical qualities, their expressionist perspective, and their use of bold, vivid color. Chagall’s style has been associated with the art movements of surrealism, fauvism, and cubism but instead of fitting neatly into one category, Chagall created a style uniquely his own.
