MAIDU NATIVE AMERICAN COILED BASKET
This lot features a Maidu Native American coiled basket. The design and shape would also be consistent with it being a Pomo basket, but the size of the stitches make it more likely Maidu. They are both California basket making tribes but the stitches on Pomo baskets tend to be finer. The basket will date around 1920 and is missing a few stitches as shown in photos. This basket measures 2'' H x 4'' W x 4'' D.
