A RUSSIAN EMPIRE BADGE OF THE LOCAL TROOPS

The Russian Empire. A Badge of the local troops for the lower ranks. Approved in 1911. In 1811, by decree of Alexander I, a special kind of troops was formed - the internal guard. In addition to the functions of the police, internal troops also carried out rescue operations during fires and floods. In 1864 A separate building of the Internal Guard was transformed into Local troops. Breastplate commemorative badge. It was established in honor of the 100th anniversary of the troops for military commanders and ranks of local infantry brigades and teams. Silver plated wreath of laurel and oak branches under the gilded Imperial crown. At the bottom of the wreath is tied with a silver-plated ribbon on which two Cyrillic letters: “M. V.". A gilded double-headed eagle with a crown is superimposed on the wreath; anniversary dates are marked on either side of it: “1811-1911”. On the chest of the eagle there is a shield with the golden letter “C”, and on the wings are the golden monograms of Emperors Alexander I and Nicholas II.
