Certificate of appreciation from the faculty of medicine of the Hebrew University and Hadassa. Given on 23.12.1956 to Dr. Moshe Wallach on his 90th birthday. Among others, the certificate states that "he was the one who volunteered years ago to immigrate to our Holy City … he is the wan who built a home for the sick … and he is the one who stood beside the patient at any time".
The certificate is hand-signed by Binyamin Mazar, the famous archeologist, Arye Leo Olitzky, the well-known researcher of leprosy, Theodor Grushka, one of the senior physicians of the era, Moshe Rachmilevitz, the winner of the Israel Prize for medicine and others.
Dr. Moshe Wallach (1886-1957) a pioneer physician in Jerusalem, the founder and manager of "Sha'arei Tzedek" Hospital. He was identified with the hospital so much so that the hospital was sometimes called "the Wallach Hospital".
Size of Parchment: 30X37 cm.
Condition: Very Good. Some of the signatures have faded. The certificate is written in black, red and gold.
