An important and touching letter written by the Chief Rabbis of Israel, Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak HaCohen Kook and the Rishon L'Zion Rabbi Yaakov Meir, to the High Commissioner of the Land of Israel during the British mandate, Sir Herbert Samuel. 1924.
Written on official letter paper of the Chief Rabbinate. Typewritten, with signatures of the two Rabbis in the margins, as well the signature of the general secretary, Rabbi Shmuel Aharon Webber. The Rabbis' stamps and the stamp of the Chief Rabbinate.
A letter in which the Rabbis express their admiration for the High Commissioner, following a false report in the press that the orthodox Jews are hoping that rumors of the High Commissioner's death are true.
An important letter which expresses the great respect which the Jewish people and their Rabbis felt towards the Jewish High Commissioner! Letters signed by Rabbi Kook and his colleague Rabbi Meir are extremely rare.
