KERN JEROME: (1885-1945) American composer of musical theatre and popular music. D.S., Jerome D. Kern, being a signed cheque, Beverly Hills, California, 31st March 1939. The partially printed cheque, completed entirely in Kern's hand, is drawn on the California Bank and is made payable to the Franchise Tax Commissioner for the sum of $501.13. A circular bank cancellation only just touches one letter of the signature. VG
