23 newspapers and pamphlets from the Suez Crisis. Israel, October-November 1956. Hebrew.
1-5. Issues 2-6 of the IDF pamphlet "Alei Esh" (printed consecutively from October 31, 1956 to November 5, 1956). Including reports from the battlefield, essays to strengthen the fighters' morale and news of events in Israel.
6. "Alei Tsafon", bulletin of the Northern Command from October 14, 1956, including a detailed report, 4 pages long, on the occupation of Rafah, and a map.
7-8. Two issues of the brigade bulletin "BaHazit U'vaOref" [On the Front and in the Rear, Military News Bulletin for the Brigade's Soldiers], edited by Yehezkel HaMeiri.
9. "HaMatzav" [The Situation], issue no. 2. Internal
circular with instructions to the editors of IDF newspapers, on behalf of the Information Branch of the IDF Education Officer. Includes general topics to be covered, headlines and rhymed passwords for maintaining secrecy.
10-23. Twelve issues of "Haaretz" newspaper (all the daily wartime issues, from October 30, 1956 to November 9, 1956, and two issues from the end of November); issue of "Ma'ariv" from November 13, 1956; issue of "Lamerhav" from March 7, 1957.
Size and condition vary. Bulletins in good overall condition, newspapers in fair-good condition.
