Photo Album from a Voyage to Palestine and Egypt, 1913
70 photographs documenting a voyage to Palestine (through Egypt) in 1913. Dated and described in handwriting (German) on reverse.
Photographs of landscapes and sites, including many photographs of Jerusalem (walls and streets of the Old City, a view of the Temple Mount and the Dome of the Rock, a view of Jaffa Street from Hotel Fast, and more), photographs of Jaffa, Gethsemane, the Tomb of Absalom, Bethlehem, the Jordan River, the Dead Sea, and other sites; photographs from the port of Port Said in Egypt, and more.
On the front binding of the album is the inscription: "Palaestina 1913". On the inner side of the back binding is a glued-on paper label from the store where the album was purchased in Vienna.
Photographs: approx. 7.5X10.5 cm, in a 12X19.5 cm album (bound with a string). Good condition. Slight defects. Creases and small tears to album binding.
