The studio of military artists named after M. Grekov is an association of artists of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. It was created on November 29, 1934 according to the idea of the master of battle painting Mitrofan Grekov. His works “The Trumpeters of the First Cavalry Army”, “Into the Budenny Squad”, “The Denominator and the Trumpeter” are among the classic works of Soviet fine art. After the death of Grekov, the association of artists was named after him - "Izomasterskaya amateur red army art named after M. Grekov." The country needed work that would develop the best traditions of the Soviet battle genre.
