Rare Glass Painting by the Artist David Ben Elkayam Moshe Or. Jerusalem ca. 1930
Early and rare work of art from Jerusalem of the early 20th century. Made by a Jewish artist who lived in Jerusalem.
Appearing in the cneter of the plate in the scene of the Binding of Yitzchak and above it, the inscription: "ועקידת יצחק היום לזרעו של יעקב אבינו ברחמים תזכור סלה". Above it, an illustration of the walls of Jerusalem with the Hebrew inscription "Jerusalem" . Appearing around it are Yad Avshalom, the tomb of Rabbi Meir Baal Hanes, Rachel's Tomb and the tomb of Zecharya Hanavi [with captions beneath each illustration]. At the top of the work, the inscription: "אם אשכחך ירושלם תשכח ימיני תדבק לשני לחכי אם לא אזכרכי". Illustrations of Art Nouveau lions, trees and flowers.
