Dimensions: 25 × 10 × 7 cm.
Polychrome and gilded carved wood. The Immaculate Conception, belonging to the prolific 17th-century Quito school, is distinguished by its refined polychromy and the gilding that enhances the folds of her tunic. The figure, with her serene face and open arms in a sign of welcome, expresses Marian devotion in its purest form. The meticulous details, such as the floral ornamentation of her clothing, reflect the influence of Quito workshops in the creation of sacred images of great artistic and spiritual value.
