Shafranski Alexander Stepanovich (08.01.1946–09.01.2017)
Graphic artist, painter. The main directions of creative activity: monumental painting, book graphics (etching), sportswear design.
Born, lived and died in Moscow. He studied in art studios (1963-1968) with the painters A. A. Kulakov and A. E. Sukhinin. He graduated from the Moscow historical and archival Institute (1970) and the Moscow polygraphic Institute (1978), where he studied under P. G. Zakharov, V. M. Basov and D. D. Zhilinsky. Since 1976, he has collaborated with the Moscow publishing houses Molodaya Gvardiya, Znanie, Planeta, and Progress. Participated in 32 Russian graphic, book and painting exhibitions. Member of the international Federation of artists of UNESCO (IFA, 1992) and the Creative Union of artists of Russia (1999). His works are in private collections in Russia and abroad.
