Lot of 12 press photos of the Arava aircraft manufactured by the IAI in the early 1970s, includes 6 26x22 cm photos and 6 13x18 cm photos. Explanations on back of photographs. *The Arava aircraft was the first transport aircraft designed and manufactured in Israel. Its first flight was in November, 1969. Its civilian model carries 20 passengers while its military model carries 24 soldiers or a 2.5 ton cargo. The aircraft served the IAF from the 1970s until 2004. It was also sold to foreign countries, mostly in South America and Africa. Its main advantages are its short range takeoff and landing capabilities. Over 100 Arava aircrafts were manufactured in total.
