Nicoll's Birds of Egypt by Colonel R. Meinertzhagen. London: Hugh Rees Ltd. ("Published under the authority of the Egyptian government"), 1930. English. Two volumes. This book is based the research of Michael John Nicoll (1880-1925), a British ornithologist and director of the zoological gardens in Giza.
The book contains several introduction chapters, dealing with the geography of Egypt, migratory birds and birds in ancient Egypt, and a detailed handbook and checklist of all kinds of birds, sedentary and migratory.
The book includes numerous illustrations, 37 plates in color with photographs and pictures of birds of Egypt, three maps (folding plates), and a frontispiece portrait of Nicoll. GENERALLY GOOD CONDITION
