Letter written by Rav Meir Shapiro of Lublin during his fundraising mission to the United States - Boston [1927]

Rav Meir wrote this letter when he was in Boston, heading to Cleveland. He asks the letter recipient if he thinks he should then continue to Los Angeles and San Francisco, "Because some say that it easy to collect money in those cities."
Rav Meir was completely invested in his mission to support his famed yeshivah - Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin, which raised many great Torah scholars and leaders. He wrote this letter in Boston, during his lengthy trip throughout the United States.

The letter is dated: "Wednesday, Tizaveh, Boston, Gittin 28." Rav Meir, who initiated the idea of Daf Yomi, was known to date things according to the daf learned that day. Though Rav Meir was so occupied during his trip in the United States, we can imagine that he viligantly learned "The Daf."

Boston [1927]. Leaf with text on both its sides, handwritten and signed by Rav Meir.
Loss at top of the leaf, with loss of text on the second page. Nice, complete signature.
Size: About 21.5x22 cm.
Moderate condition. Restored.
