Letter from Rav Shaul Zelig Cohen av"d Dunaburg to Rav Shmuel Salant. Dunaburg 1874.
Lengthy letter regarding giving a get, written and signed by Rav Shaul Zelig HaKohen av"d Dunaburg, sent to the Rav of Yerushalayim, Rav Shmuel Salant and Rav Eliezer Dan Ralbag. (He writes that he appended Rav Eliezer Dan's name to the letter, because he recognizes his signature.)
Rav Aharon Shaul Zelig HaKohen Meirow (1813-1879) was the son of Rav Meir Shalom HaKohen, talmid of Rav Chaim of Volozhin and av"d Karelitz. He was a prominent rav in his time. At the age of 18, he was already serving as Rosh Yeshivah of Minsk, a role he filled for 24 years. He later served as av"d Brańsk and Pruzany, and c. 1870, served as av"d Dunaburg -Dvinsk. Some of his teshuvos were printed in
Teshuvos L'Sho'el (Kovno - Vilna, 1928-1929), and remnants of his chiddushim were printed in
Magen Shaul (Yerushalayim, 1954).
