The Rebbe's Kabbalah Book: Ma'ayan HaChochmah - Copy Owned and Signed by the Krolovets Rebbe
"The youth Shmuel b"r Meshulam Zusha, grandson of the tzaddik, the sacred rabbi of Apta zllh"h"
Sefer Ma'ayan HaChochmah - early and important Kabbalah sefer - the Ar"i's Kabbalah. Koritz, 1784. The title page displays the Admo"r Rabbi Shmuel of Krolovets' beautiful signature, two lines long: "The youth Shmuel b"r Meshulam Zusha, grandson of the tzaddik, the sacred rabbi of Apta zllh"h."
Sefer Ma'ayan HaChochmah deals with the rules of the Ar"i's Kabbalah, and (at the end) of this Kabbalistic work, others associated with it: Shever Yosef, Kabbalat Mahar"i Srug and Kitzur Olam HaTikkun - all deep and fundamental compositions on Kabbalah. These Kabbalistic works were used by leading Admo"rim across the generations, mostly in secret, yet their doctrines are clearly spiced with Kabbalistic concepts taken from sifrei Kabbalah: partzufim, olamot, orot, and keilim.
Extraordinarily Kabbalistic-Chassidic work, a personal Kabbalah sefer that belonged to one of the tzaddikim of that dor de'ah - the Admo"r Rabbi Shmuel of Krolovets, son of the wonder-worker, the sacred Rebbe Meshulam Zusha of Zinkov, and son-in-law of the Maggid of Trisk.
A photograph might be insufficient to convey the feeling, but through touching the leaves of this ancient sefer, which deals with most lofty matters and is full of sacred Names, and observation of the Rebbe's sacred usage marks - which appear on every single leaf of this sefer - one can feel the kedushah, and almost touch the late-night sessions when the sacred Rebbe of Krolovets tuned into the infinite light and studied these sacred Kabbalistic sefarim.
Refer to the Hebrew catalog text for a brief biography of the Admo"r Rabbi Shmuel of Krolovets.
[1] 38 leaf, 19 cm. Thick, high-quality paper. The last leaf features another rabbinic signature.
Fine condition. The book's leaves are very well-preserved, as befits this sacred copy, but the usage stains are certainly evident in every leaf of the sefer. Single worming perforations. Elegant new binding.
